MILAN (AP) — An Olympic figure skater’s coach remains banned from the Milan Cortina Winter Games while he is investigated for “physical and psychological abuse” alleged by his former athlete, sport’s highest court said Thursday.

Estonia has sent a total of 32 competitors, 16 women and 16 men, to the ongoing Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy, but 100 years ago when the games were yet young, things were much more modest.

Canada suffered its second loss in mixed doubles curling at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics on Saturday, 7-5 to Great Britain. Jennifer Dodds and Bruce Mouat took a fast 3-0 lead on Brett Gallant and Jocelyn Peterman of Chestermere, Alta. in the first end, and never relinquished it in the round-robin win.

It was unclear what caused the brief blip as players joked and killed time before the lights came on and action resumed.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will end in late February.
